Dear Parents / Guardians, Walthamstow Wetlands is opening to the public on Friday 20th October. Just 15 minutes from central London, you will find a unique haven to explore, enjoy and connect with your better nature. We have decided to focus this trip on our nursery classes and to the newly opened Walthamstow Wetlands during the Half-Term Holidays. The main entrance to Walthamstow Wetlands is 2 Forest Road, London N17 9NH. The philosophy of this trip is to connect children with nature as this is part of our Islamic heritage and students are currently focusing on lesson 'Allah, The Creator' - the Qur'an states, "As for the earth, We have spread it out, and cast on it firm hills, and caused to grow therein every kind of delightful things, as a source of vision and as a lesson to every servant (of Allah) who turns (to Him for guidance)" (Qur'an 50:7-8). There are 3 activity sessions to choose from:
(For more information on each please see the ticket link below) If you would like to attend alongside your nursery school (5 years and under) child/ren please book your tickets directly from the link given below. Parents / guardians must attend with their child/ren and will be responsible throughout the sessions. This will be a great opportunity for our students to build relationships outside of the classroom space; parents to get to know each other and most importantly for students to understand their lesson 'Allah, the Creator' in its natural environment. For more information on Walthamstow Wetlands and how to get there please visit the website. Ustadha Zahida Ahmed will be present for all the activity sessions Wassalaam,
Warmest regards, Hamid Mahmood

Buyers: - Come along and get yourself a serviced, theft-free, affordable bike. - To guarantee something in your size why not pre-order? Just go to our 'SIZE GUIDE' and get yourself measured and then put your order in at our 'MARKET ORDER FORM' page. - We accept card or cash. Sellers: - A mechanic will give your bike a free, basic service. If your bike needs more work than this we will notify you and you must collect before we leave, otherwise it will have to come with us for our own use / recycling. - Stabilisers - we remove these due to current recommended cycle training guidelines. - Once the bike is serviced it is valued by us and we send you an email for you to check the price. If you wish to change this click on ‘contact admin’ and you can tell us the new price. Remember though the idea is to create affordable bikes for your community! - The email will also give you instructions on how to leave your bank or PayPal details in a secure online area so that when the bike sells we can pay you. Payments are made weekly on a Monday (Tuesday on Bank Holidays). - Unsold bikes are taken to other markets until sold. In these instances we take 25% of the sales price to cover transport and storage costs. If you wish to take your bike please collect before we leave. Any questions - please email info@peddlemywheels.com Assalaamu alaykum,

THE MADE ULTIMATE WATER CHALLENGE! (MONDAY 21ST TO FRIDAY 25TH MARCH 2016)
- Over 10 litres of water is wasted during each wudu performed when the tap is left running – that’s more water than someone in a developing country who does not have water access uses in an entire day
- A lack of access to clean water and sanitation kills children at a rate equivalent to a jumbo jet crashing every 4 hours
- Following on from our distribution of the Prophetic Mudd, Fatimah Elizabeth Cates Academy are taking the MADE Ultimate Water Challenge and standing up for water justice!
- We are aiming to ‘Beat the Tap’, by using only the Prophetic amount of water [the mudd - approx. 675ml] during wudu for the five prayers over five days!
- Our teachers will be taking part InshaAllah, and we want our students and parents to take part too! You can do so by simply using the mudd/675 ml of water every time you do wudhu for the five days from Monday 21st to Friday 25th March.
- Register for the challenge by emailing your name to Ustadh Yahya at yahyanurgat@gmail.com
- We strongly encourage you to take part and practice the Sunnah: The Prophet Muhammad [peace be upon him] forbade wasting water “even if you are at the banks of a flowing river” [ibn Majah]
- We are also raising funds to support the campaigns that MADE runs, including providing a deep water well in Zanzibar where water access is only a reality for the rich with the poorest unable to afford access.
- Our fundraising page can be found at www.justgiving.com/fundraising/FECWaterChallenge. We aim to raise £500. Please donate generously and encourage others to do so too. Link on our website!
