ALCHEMIYA with the East London Mosque & London Muslim Centre Present an exclusive Hajj film screening of Circling the House of God. 

Dr. Martin Lings, also known as Shaykh Abu Bakr Siraj ad-Din, was revered by people all over the world as an erudite scholar and Muslim intellectual thinker, whose saintly radiance touched the lives of millions who looked to him for guidance.


In 1938, as a young man in his late 20s, he embraced Islam, entering deeply into its spirit; and the books he went on to write bear witness to the profundity of that spirit which he came to exemplify during his life.

In 1948, Dr. Lings performed the Hajj pilgrimage to the holy city of Makkah. Using unique archived material, this Matmedia Production holds an unprecedented experience and insight into the historical background of the Sacred Islamic rite. The original beauty and simplicity of the Hajj is brought to the viewer through the sheer presence and eloquence of Ling's narrative. 


Circling the House of God will be screened at the launch of The London Muslim Centre's Hajj exhibition, followed by a presentation from Alchemiya's Founder & CEO, Navid Akhtar.
