Cycle Sisters and FECycle are recruiting for volunteer Ride Leaders!
This is an exciting opportunity to develop your cycling and leadership skills as well as share your passion for cycling with others. As well as the free training outlined below you will receive ongoing support and development in the role and become part of our dedicated team of Ride Leaders that help achieve amazing outcomes for our participants. Cycle Sisters, an award winning Muslim women's cycle group, is looking for applications from sisters who would like to train as a volunteer Ride Leaders to support their weekend rides in Waltham Forest. This will enable them to expand their Saturday rides, for which there has been a huge demand, and start offering 2 rides per month. FECycle, a ground-breaking cycling project of the Fatimah Elizabeth Cates Academy in Walthamstow, are looking for applications from brothers who would like to train as volunteer Ride Leaders to support their current weekend rides and enable them to start offering fortnightly intermediate led rides for brothers to support their journeys into cycling. Applicants would need to be able to commit to leading two rides per month (term time only from June 2019) from start points in Walthamstow and Leyton. They will also need to be able to attend the training elements including a 1 day Ride Leader course on Sunday 7th April at Low Hall depot. The training also includes, an induction session (on 18th May), first aid training, bike maintenance (TBC), level 3 Cycle Skills training and mentoring from an experienced Ride Leader.
