We are an madrasah, which specialises in facilitating the cultural, experiential, conscientious, critical and creative growth of children - through to their later teens - by means of a holistic pedagogy infused with a synthesising of traditional and contemporary ideas in order for them to have a well rounded Islamic worldview.
We pride ourselves in making the learning of Qa'idah, Qur'an and Islamic studies fun and engaging. We believe it is crucial for educators and parents to nurture a Muslim child's educational journey with the utmost delicacy and care so in return a child is enchanted and fascinated by the beauty of Islam.
We base our foundation on ensuring a child loves their journey in Islamic education and focus our pedagogy around four notions:
(1) Tarbiyyah (2) Ta'lim (3) Ta'dib & (4) Tajwid
At FEC Academy we work hard to ensure that parents too are facilitated in everyway possible, hence we now have 3 plans:
Plan 1: Saturday Only (4 hours)
Plan 2: Sunday Only (4 hours)
Plan 3: Saturday & Sunday (7 / 8 hours)
100 Queens Road, Walthamstow, E17 8QP
Frederick Bremer School
Walthamstow, E17 4EY
(See map below and pictures of location on the right)
Another thing which sets out FEC Academy is that each class will have two / three teachers, not a teacher and TA as in Primary schools but TWO / THREE Teachers.
Teacher 1: Academically Qualified (either have a PGCE, GTP, QTS or Degree)
Teacher 1 will be a specialist in Teaching Methodology & Academia
Teacher 2: Islamically Qualified (have Alimiyyah with a Qira'at - tajwid - specialism) Teacher 2 will be a specialist in Traditional Islam (Subject & Content Knowledge)
Teacher 3: Either of the above
Both teachers will team teach a class of 22 - that's 11 students per teacher. (Or upto 28 with Three Teachers)
Hence, your child will insha'Allah receive the best of both worlds
We pride ourselves with making learning of Qaidah, Qur'an and Islamic Studies fun because we believe this to be the most significant first step for Muslim Children. We will be using Safar Academy's Curriculum with our creative and engaging methodology.
